The Haunted House

He ran as fast as he could trying to finish a 3 kilometre marathon, he doesn't like being first so he sat down on a rock and waited for the others to come. He heard distant running steps from the other players but he couldn’t track it down because the noise was coming from all directions.

Suddenly the noise stopped and he was in the middle of nowhere and couldn’t find any traces of footprint’s from the other people. John started to get scared.  Goosebumps ran up his back when  he saw  darkness falling and a mysterious house appearing  through the tree’s.  Rumour has it that in the late 70’s old people use to stay in the house  and use a cauldron to  make weird potions but that as they say was a long time ago.

John opened the door and stepped inside,  the door shut closed behind him.  Although John tried desperately to open the door, he had not luck,it appeared to be barred from the other side. Shivers ran up his spine.  The feeling that something was about to happen hung in the air.   He was stuck in a scary looking house that might be filled with vampires or even worse a zombie riot or the people who lived here as ghosts. John wanted his mum’s special chocolate milkshake because she makes it everytime he does something that includes a good opportunity. Then a man came downstairs and asked John why are you here then John didn’t say anything but the man asked again in a more angry voice then John answered “I was just here for shelter”. Then the man said “It’s time for you to go John” then John asked the man how he knew his name but he disappeared in the darkness. Then John opened the door and ran outside once he stopped running he looked back and noticed that the house was gone and the crows finally stopped being annoying again, then he found himself back at home and his mum making his special chocolate milkshake.

Hello I am Erastus and I am a year 8 student at Saint Patrick's school. Encase you didn't notice it is my last year at Saint Patrick's and then I'll go to college,  so my goal will be to increase my Reading, Maths and Writing skills  so I can get better and better. This year my best subject would be Reading because I really think it could help you with words and in the future. When I will grow up I'm going to be a famous basketball player and play for the Chicago Bulls.

Real ghosts!

Darkness fell as a couple of friends were struggling to get home, the mist was growing even more stronger and was harder to see.  They heard distant screams from afar and glimpsed shadows from the corner of Their eye’s then out popped a ghost and went with the name Casper the scariest ghost in town, he was trying to threaten us to go the other way but failed the attempt, they ran as fast as they can to reach home.  Then out popped Casper and possessed Mark, he ran after me as if he desperately wanted me for dinner, so Kent really had to burn some rubber this time because he could see a distant shadow racing after himself like a drag racing car going his fastest.

It was hours before he reached the end of the living nightmare then saw Kit running away from the ghost, I gave him a big shout, he heard the distant shout and ran closer to me. They heard a engine start and ran to the vehicle and saw Marks’s mum, they got inside and she asked  “why weren't you guys at home” they replied terrified as she drove the vehicle towards the living nightmare, when she drove in she asked what’s the problem.  We stepped outside and spotted everything polished and clean no more thick fogs and Casper had vanished, they replied back  “ never mind“ almost relieved that the ghosts had gone.
